Vehicle Wrap

Covering a car, van, bus, truck, or train car with sheets of vinyl film is a vehicle wrap. This was initially done with paint, but vehicle wrap is a more cost effective and lighter material. It is also easier to remove then replace a vehicle wrap. The vehicle wrap is applied for either decorative or advertising purposes. Either vehicle wrap is usually a customized job.

The vinyl film for vehicle wrap comes in different sizes depending on the vehicle it would be used on. Designers and manufacturers take into consideration the shape of the vehicle when preparing the vehicle wrap, as windows need to have zero or minimal images for safety reasons. Vehicle wrap development has brought about a vinyl film that it easier to apply and adjust than previously. Putting the vehicle wrap in place on a vehicle is done more often than not with a squeegee.

Another name for the vehicle wrap is a mobile billboard. Vehicle wrap has become a powerful tool of the advertising industry. Advertisers realized that promoting their products on moving vehicles would cost less while spreading the message further and wider. Many of these advertisements are on the vehicle wrap of public transportation buses and trains. Trucks with vehicle wrap are mostly flatbed types. Some trucks have a vehicle wrap that looks like a huge billboard on either side. There are also individual drivers who have product placement vehicle wrap on their personal cars and are paid to drive a certain distance or route per day by the advertisers.

Product placement on moving vehicles has brought about increased public recall and sales. This would be based on agreements between the advertisers and the vehicle owners. Some local governments dictate which public transportation vehicles could have vehicle wrap for they find mobile billboards create heavier traffic in already congested areas.
